About me

Having left university with a degree in archaeology and a love of history, the arts, and reading, I have spent the last two decades as a freelancer in a variety of disciplines. Resisting the possibility of becoming a 'jack of all trades and master of none', I apply myself to each skillset with care and attention to detail. I am determined that all my clients should receive excellent service, and the feedback and repeat business I have received from happy customers suggests that I do succeed in this aim.

I have acted in plays and interactive events, directed, stage managed, costumed and propped film and theatre as diverse as television comedies and touring operas. I have designed posters, websites, theatrical programmes, book covers and interiors; accompanied and musically directed large community choirs; taught piano and other subjects to all ages and run large events. I have proofread programmes, novels and essays; restored damaged photos; illustrated books and worked with wood, fabric and other media on various artistic projects. I am also a keen reader of general fiction, history, theology and philosophy, sociology and psychology. As a result I have a head full of (mostly) useful information, and a keen interest in adding to and using it.

No matter what the genre, and no matter how many new AI tools are out there, it is obvious to anyone who reads a lot that there is still no better way to ensure that your text is of a high standard, makes good sense and is full of interest and variety, than to hire a human editor. With this in mind, I am keen to continue helping the wider writing community with my excellent spelling and grammar, minute attention to detail, and patience.
